A Palestinian man was killed and four Palestinians were wounded in an Israeli attack on the West Bank city of Hebron late on Wednesday, an Israeli military spokesman said.
The attack occurred in the central district of Hebra, near the border with Jordan, according to the army’s military spokesman, Lt.
Col. Peter Lerner.
The man, a Palestinian man named Ibrahim al-Jamal, and the four Palestinians, a man and a woman, were killed in the attack, Lerner said.
No group immediately claimed responsibility.
In 2014, the Israeli military killed six Palestinians and injured more than 20,000 Palestinians during a war with the Palestinians in the West of the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
The West Bank and East Jerusalem are under full Israeli military control.
Israel considers the Palestinian enclave to be its “eternal and indivisible” capital.
