The NFL’s preseason game against the Washington Redskins on Thursday night has been delayed for about an hour because of a torn ACL in center Weston Richburg, who tore his ACL in the fourth quarter.

The team has not announced the severity of the injury.

Richburg left the game after getting hit by a pass from Redskins defensive end Brandon Scherff.

It was his second of the preseason.

“This is just an unfortunate and unfortunate situation for Weston,” the team said in a statement.

“It was a serious injury for the entire team.

He will be evaluated and will have further surgery.

We will be monitoring Weston’s progress throughout the remainder of the week.”

The Redskins are scheduled to open the regular season at home against the New York Giants on Sept. 1.

“I’m very thankful to the medical staff and the staff at Redskins Park for their care and the care of our players,” Richburg said in the statement.
